Microsoft Ready (formerly TechReady) is a global field-readiness event that the company runs twice a year for employees. Education and networking are its purpose. In February 2017, the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle hosted Microsoft Ready. Of course, you find the traditional lineup of keynotes, sessions, and social functions at a Ready event. You also find a lot of great hands-on labs (HOLs).

We produced several HOLs for the event on the Learn on Demand Systems platform. Hundreds of Microsoft employees gave our HOLs a workout, and they scored very well. These HOLs were ostensibly about Windows 10, but they also included many Microsoft technologies—Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), Intune, the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Office 365, and System Center Configuration Manager to name a few.

HOL topics

  • Azure AD for a remote workforce
  • Credential Guard
  • Microsoft Device Guard
  • Internet Explorer Enterprise Mode
  • Provisioning packages
  • Windows 10 in-place upgrade
  • Windows 10 Start menu and taskbar customization
  • Windows as a service
  • Windows Information Protection
  • Windows Store for Business
